^ Condition 1: The mirror does not return to the pre-reverse position. To successfully diagnose and repair, it is important to accurately identify which of the following conditions is present. Some vehicles equipped with this feature may exhibit one or both of the following conditions. This feature was deleted from Expedition/Navigator on, and is no longer available. The feature can be enabled or disabled using the message center. The position that the mirror returns to is ALWAYS the position that the mirror was in immediately before the vehicle was placed in reverse. This feature automatically tilts the mirror down when the vehicle is placed in reverse, then tilts the mirror back up when the vehicle is shifted out of reverse. Refer to the following Service Procedure to identify and repair reverse tilt mirror system concerns.Īll 2003-2004 Navigators, and some 2003-2004 Expeditions, built before, were equipped with an automatic reverse tilt-down mirror system. This information is intended to aid technicians in diagnosing the system and avoiding unnecessary repairs. This TSB consolidates previous special service messages (SSM's) on reverse tilt mirrors.
